The proxy works as a conductor between you and the browser. It filters out all unnecessary information while keeping you anonymous. It is best to use private proxies that will belong only to you. They are fast and reliable, which can not be said about free public servers. Such proxies can be used by many people at the same time, and this will only harm your device.
1. Open the Mozilla Firefox browser.
2. Go to the menu (in the upper right corner) and open "Options".
3. At the bottom of the page, find the "Network Settings" section and click on the "Settings" button.
4. In the opened window, select "Manual Proxy Configuration".
5. Next to the type of proxy you want, enter the IP address and port.
6. Check the box next to "Also use this proxy for FTP and HTTPS" to use proxies for other configurations as well. You can also use several proxies: then you do not need to check the box, just enter the data in the fields yourself.
7. If you have a .pac proxy file, select the "Automatic proxy configuration URL" option, paste the link to the file and click "Reload".
8. You can select exception sites for which the proxy will not work. Paste the link or domain into the "No Proxy For" field.
9. Click on "OK".
10. When you go to any site, a window will open. In the fields, you need to enter the Username and Password of your proxy server and click "OK". Congratulations, the setup is complete!
You can change the proxy settings in Firefox at any time. To do this, return to "Network Settings" and enter new data. Then the Username and Password will need to be entered again.
You can check the setting directly through the browser.
1. Open the Firefox browser.
2. Enter in the search bar "My IP address" or "Test IP address" and select any site from the proposed ones.
3. If the IP matches the address of your proxy, you did everything right.
1. To disable the proxy, go back to Menu - "Options" - "Network Settings" - "Settings".
2. In the open window, select "No Proxy".
3. Click on "OK".
Now you know how to properly set up a proxy for Mozilla Firefox. Do not neglect the security of your device and personal data: choose reliable personal proxy servers. Good luck!
