How to set up a proxy server in Origin

Why a proxy is needed for Origin

Origin is a platform for purchasing Electronic Arts products, which has its local restrictions. Because of them, users in some countries are faced with the problem of buying games. Proxy settings in Origin

There are two ways to set up a proxy for Origin: through Windows settings and the optional Proxifier service. It will not be possible to install a proxy in Origin itself, since the system does not support the use of such tools to bypass restrictions.

Proxy settings in Origin through Windows

  1. Click on the Windows icon and go to "Settings".

  2. Select the "Network & Internet" section and then "Proxy".

  3. You will see proxy settings in Windows. In the Manual Proxy Settings section, move the slider to the “On” position.

  6. If you are using a personal proxy, an authorization window in the browser will appear right after settings. Enter the username and password of your proxy server in the fields and click "Sign in".

The disadvantage of this method is that the proxy will work for all programs and browsers on the device. If you want to set up a proxy exclusively for Origin, then you need to download Proxifier and follow the instructions below.

Setting up a proxy in Origin through Proxifier

  1. Open the Proxifier program.
  2. Open the "Profile” category, and then select "Proxy Servers".

  3. In the opened window, click on the "Add" button.

  4. Now enter the IP address and port of your proxy, and select the proxy protocol.

  5. Check the box next to "Enable" and enter the username and password of the proxy server, click “OK”.

  6. By clicking “OK” in the previous settings window, another window will pop up, click "Yes".

  7. Go to the "Profile" category again and then select "Proxification Rules".
