How to set up a proxy in ProxyCap

What is ProxyCap

ProxyCap is a handy tool for setting up proxy servers. It allows you to set a proxy for all programs on your device or individual software. For example, if you need to set up a proxy server for only one online game, you can easily do this using ProxyCap.

The service supports the main types of proxies: SOCKS4, SOCKS5, HTTP, HTTPS, and SSH connections. You can use one proxy, or you can immediately create a chain. All you need is a high-quality server, and the program will provide you with reliable protection for your device.

Setting up a proxy in ProxyCap

1. Open the program and click on the "Proxies" tab.



2. Click on the "New Proxy Server" icon.



3. In the opened window, fill in the proxy information. First, select your proxy server type.



4. Enter the IP address and port of the proxy.



5. If you have a personal proxy with authorization, check the box next to "Proxy requires authentication" and enter the Username and Password of the proxy server.



6. Click the "OK" button.



7. To check if the proxy server is operating properly, click the lightning icon.



8. Select the site on which you will check the proxy, and click on the "Check Now" button.



In the opened window you will see the results. If the proxy did not pass the test you will see the "FAILED" message. If your proxy server is working properly, "SUCCEEDED" will appear. Click on the "OK" button.



In the same way, you can add new or change proxy servers to build a chain.

9. Now you need to bind the proxy to the program (or all programs on the device). To do this, click on "Rules" on the sidebar.



10. Click the "Quick Add Rule" icon.



11. In the "Rule Action" section, make sure you have "Redirect through proxy" checked. Select the proxy you configured above.



12. Check the box next to "Resolve names remotely".



13. In the "Program" section, select what you want to use the proxy for: if for all software on the device, leave a checkmark next to "All programs"; if for a specific program, check "Specify".



14. If you selected "Specify", click on the three dots below and find the path to the program on your computer.



15. Enter any name for your task and click "OK" to complete the setup. Now the proxy will work for the program you specified, or for all software on the device.
